  • Headhunted from Delta Beverages following Ingwebu's capitulation (market share had dropped from 68% in 2013 to 35% in 2017 , a financial loss of US$1.7m in 2017 , a 6 month salary backlog and low employee morale ) under unyielding pressure from Delta Beverages Sorghum in the Southern Region, I was appointed as the Sales & Marketing Manager to return the company to profitability, create a high performance culture, arrest market share decline and enhance the company's competitiveness. Following a series of company wide meetings and market visits, I formulated a fit-for-purpose market-led pragmatic business plan with clear timelines, actionables and accountability. Leveraging on thorough opportunity assessment (market potential study), re-modelling our Route-to Market strategy, Retailer Engagement Programmes & companywide collaboration we moved market share from 35% to 45% by June 2018. The re-introduction of new packs, the 1,25 litre Calabash and the 5 litre pack along with successful product launches, provincial and national cultural festival galas, execution of Below the Line activations and implementing companywide cost-containment measures to manage leakages we attained a profit of USD$260,000 for 2018, cleared the 6 month salary backlog and exceeded the target market share of 50% to attain 60% share as measured by the competitor's outsourced agency.

  • I was initially hired as a Sales Manager in 2013 for the Sorghum Business following my exploits in the capacity of Sales Representative Lagers where the company noted that I had outgrown the position. In 2015,the distribution function was added under the Sales Manager's portfolio. The end of 2016 marked a strategic shift with emphasis shifting from just attaining set volume targets to focus on achieving the right product sales mix (70:30) with priority on marketing carbonated PET Chibuku Super to the Scud 2 litre pack. After concerted efforts of segmenting the market to create rural routes where we exclusively sold the 1.25 litre PET pack and studying demand patterns and thereafter creating Super only stock points while avoiding door to door deliveries beyond the100km radius and 100% pack proliferation in the Urban market, we put the company on a sustained upturn hence attaining 65% market share in Bulawayo and Matabeleland markets.To sustain our competitive advantage, we consistently ensured that we always had a >90% average on all market audit measures

  • My role as a Lagers Sales representative entailed achieving set sales volume targets, set market share goals, ensuring that market execution target parameters were attained while upholding company reputation in Zvishavane, Mberengwa, Filabusi and part of Shurugwi market. With full knowledge and experience from my previous assignment with Delta Beverages Soft drinks between 2004 and 2006 and my experience in product handling and engagement with the Kgalagadi Breweries team who had a wider range of products, I consistently excelled on all Key Performance indicators and set a high bar for those who succeeded me in the position. I attained double digit sales growth of above 20% month on month between 2010 and 2011 while sales volume growth in 2022 skyrocketed to 40% as we tapped into increased mining activity and extending credit to stock points in mining areas. I was the top performing Sales rep in 2012 and I also was the to student in the SAB miller facilitated Sales Excellence programme culminating into my application and elevation to the position of Sales Manager.
